Certain foods can boost brain health. Scientific efforts are being developed for a food plan that can hopefully reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s disease. The brain boosting benefits come down to two general principals. Limit foods high in saturated fats and calories that have low nutritional value and eat more foods that offer nutrients that help your brain. The top nutrients are vitamin E, B and omega 3’s. Here are the foods to eat and limit every week. Do eat: six or more servings a week of green leafy vegetables, at least one serving of another vegetable every day, more than five servings of nuts every week, extra virgin olive oil as your primary cooking oil, at least three servings of whole grains every day, fish that hasn’t been fried once a week (baked, poached or broiled), beans for more than three meals every week, poultry for more than three meals each week. Do limit: butter to one serving a day, cheese to less than one serving every week, red meat to less than four servings a week, fried or fast food to one serving a week, sweets and pastries to three or less times a week. Studies show that these suggestions can boost your brain health-give it a try.
