Check Your Ceiling Fan!

Ceiling FanWant an easy way to save on heating and cooling costs? If you have ceiling fans in your home make sure they’re turning the appropriate direction!

When you’re using your heating system in your home, make sure the fan is turning clockwise. Warm air rises so when the blades are turning clockwise, it will pull air up and push the warm air trapped at the ceiling outwards and back down into your rooms.

When you’re using your AC, make sure the ceiling fan is turning counter clockwise. This will create a wind chill effect and make it feel cooler than it really is so you’re able to bump up the temperature on your thermostat and save on cooling energy costs.

If you’re not familiar with how to change the direction of your ceiling fan, a quick internet search should be able to provide you with information. Always make sure you turn off the ceiling fan and make sure it is completely stopped before making any adjustments to change fan blade direction.
