How to Find your Filter Size

Filter SizeHow to Find your Filter Size

We can never stress enough the importance of changing the filter on your HVAC unit every 2 months if not EVERY month. As long as you know where your filter is located on your system, it’s usually pretty easy. Pull out the old filter and replace with a new filter with the arrows pointing in the direction of the air flow. But what if you move into a new home and go to change your filter and there isn’t one in there? How do you know what size to get? Grab yourself a tape measure and we’ll talk you through it!

First, measure the length and width of your filter space.

Next, measure the depth or thickness of the space.

Put those numbers together so it looks something like this: 19 ½” x 24 ½” x 7/8”.

Lastly, round up to the whole number so you would have 20 x 25 x 1.

Simple enough, right? If you have any issues locating your filter, finding the size, or don’t know how to replace your filter, give us a call at 785-341-4193 and let our technicians take care of your needs!
