Clogged Sewer Line

A clogged sewer line is the last thing a home owner wants to deal with.  Most home owners give little thought to their sewer lines.  If your home is in the process of the sewer getting ready to back up, you will have some warning signs, so “listen” to your house.  If your wash machine is in the process of draining and your toilets start percolating or water comes up around the floor drain in the basement – that is a warning sign.  If you flush the toilet and it backs up into the tub/shower – that is a warning sign. Clogs can occur in the main sewer line or one of the secondary lines.  Your house is basically set up like a tree.  You have one main trunk line that runs out of the house and then you have all these small branches off of that.  If the clog is in the main line, that means any water you run will cause problems.  If it’s a secondary line, it will stay isolated to that secondary line.  Once you have any of theses symptoms, it is important to shut off the water to your home and call the plumber.  De Hart Plumbing, serving Manhattan Kansas, Junction City Kansas and Wamego Kansas.dehart-slide
