Wipes

Wipes are an asset for plumbing companies. Why do you ask?  Because wipe blockages are the cause of most toilet plumbing calls.  Whether baby wipes, personal wipes, facial wipes, they should NEVER be flushed down the toilet.  Many of these products might say “flushable”, but they are not” flushable”. Wipes do not disintegrate quickly and clog your home systems as well as sewage treatment equipment and septic systems.  Homeowners and businesses spend hundreds of thousands of dollars every year for plumbers to unclog their systems because of wipes flushed down the toilet.  City sewer systems have to perform emergency repairs regularly because their pump systems get clogged with wipes that make it all the way there to cause a blockage.  Wipes are causing blockages in sewer systems all around the world.  In London last year, sewage workers encountered wet wipes mixed with food fats that created a 16-ton blockage to their drainage system.  It took about three weeks to bring the sewer system back to normal.  In New York City they refer to these wipe blockages as super knots.  Officials, there are planning a public awareness campaign to educate consumers not to flush any kind of wipes.  So remember, NO wipes are flushable-dispose of them in your trash.  De Hart Plumbing, Heating and Cooling serving Manhattan Kansas, Junction City Kansas, Wamego Kansas and some outlying areas.
