Cleansing Myths

Here are some cleansing myths you may be interested in.  *Scrubbing skin makes it glow.  Exfoliating a couple times a week is good but be sure to be gentle on your skin and avoid rough loofahs and stiff/rough scrubbies.  *Hot water is best for a shower or bath.  Hot water can be bad for your skin.  It will strip it of natural oils and leave you with dry sensitive skin.  Warm water is best.  *It’s normal for skin to feel tight after a bath or shower.  If your skin feels tight after washing, you are using the wrong type of product.  You want to use moisturizing, sulfate-free soaps and body washes.  *Too much washing is bad for your skin.  This can be true if you are using the wrong type of soap.  It’s good to cleanse your body every day if you use the right type of soap/body wash.  Look for soap that says hydrating or moisturizing as this is always better for your skin.  *You don’t need moisturizing soap if you have oily skin.  Whatever your skin type, it always needs hydration.  De Hart Plumbing Heating and Cooling, serving Manhattan Kansas, Junction City Kansas, Wamego Kansas, Topeka Kansas and some surrounding areas.
