BBQ grilling is a tasty way to cook. Here are some helpful hints to make it even better. If you BBQ with charcoal, there are several ways to get the charcoal lit. You can do the old way of building a charcoal pyramid and soaking it in charcoal lighter fluid and waiting to light it , then waiting for the coals to turn gray. Charcoal chimneys allow you to start the charcoal using newspaper as a fuel. There are also electric starters, which do not use starter fluid. If you use starter fluid, use only charcoal starter fluid and never add it to an already lit fire. Let the charcoal cool completely before disposing of it in a metal only container. With propane grills it’s a matter of making sure your gas tank hose is secure and not leaking and that you have enough gas in the tank to get the cooking done. It’s a good idea to have an alternate full tank of propane available so you don’t have to finish cooking the food in the oven. Other helpful tips when BBQ grilling are to have the appropriate long handled tools and basting brushes along with metal pans and aluminum foil. Make sure you brush the grill free of previous cooking debris and give it a good oil rub so your food doesn’t stick before cooking again.
