Chances are, you will eat some deviled eggs this weekend. The term “deviled” came to be used in the 18th century when pertaining to a food that was spicy or zesty. Here is a recipe for classic deviled eggs. *6- boiled eggs, cooled and peeled *1/4 -cup mayonnaise *1-teaspoon vinegar *1-teaspoon yellow mustard 1/8-teaspoon salt *black pepper to taste *Paprika. Slice eggs in half lengthwise. Remove yolks and place the whites on a serving platter. Mash the yolks with a fork and add all ingredients but the paprika. Evenly spread heaping teaspoons of the yolk mixture into the egg whites. Arrange eggs on platter.  Sprinkle with paprika, chill and serve. This is just a classic recipe. You can add many ingredients to the filling such as: pickle relish, minced onions, capers. bacon bits, chopped black or green olives, minced red, yellow or green peppers, shrimp and the list goes on, it is up to you. De Hart Plumbing, serving Manhattan Kansas, Junction City Kansas and Wamego Kansas.
