Here are a few handy household tips for you today.  Does your garbage disposal smell like a swamp?  Combine 1-cup vinegar and 1-cup water.  Pour into ice cube trays and freeze.  Remove the cubes from the tray and grind them in your disposal, then flush with water for 1 minute.  Are your plastic food storage containers holding on to odors after washing them?  Rub the inside of the container with a damp cloth dipped in baking soda.  Let it sit for 20 minutes, then wash.  You can also drop in 2 denture cleaning tablets, wait 20 minutes and rinse.  Odors should be gone.  Remember to store your containers without the lids snapped on, so they can air out between uses.  I hope you try these household tips today!  De Hart Plumbing, serving Manhattan Kansas, Junction City Kansas and Wamego Kansas.
