A simple meat and potato pie recipe for a fall supper. *1-pound lean ground beef *2-slices soft bread torn into small pieces *2/3-cup milk *1-beaten egg *1/4-cup chopped onion *1-tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 1-teaspoon salt *1/4-teaspoon black pepper * 2-cups mashed potatoes (fresh or instant) *1/2-cup grated cheddar cheese. Mix beef ,bread, milk, egg, onion, salt & pepper and Worcestershire sauce together. Pat into a greased pie plate. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Take out of oven and drain off any grease. Spread potatoes on top, sprinkle with cheese and bake 10 minutes. Take out of oven and let it cool for 5 minutes. Cut into wedges and serve with a salad. There are many variations to this recipe. You could use ground pork or turkey. You can add different spices or condiments such as catsup, mustard or BBQ sauce. And you can use a different type of cheese. Experiment and enjoy! De Hart Plumbing, serving Manhattan Kansas, Junction City Kansas and Wamego Kansas.
