Here are some home tips. * Don’t neglect your dryer vent.  You already know you should clean the lint trap after each use.  Lint builds up inside the dryer and vent are one of the most common causes of home fires.  Once a year you should clean lint from inside the dryer cabinet and vent duct.  First, unplug the dryer, turn off the gas valve if your model is gas.  Pry off the access panel.  Vacuum inside the cabinet, especially around the motor, gas burner or electric heating element.  You can disconnect the vent duct and clean it by hand or feed a vent brush into it from the outside of your home.  *Secure your windows.  You can make your windows more secure from burglars by installing pin locks.  To install one all you have to do is drill a small hole and install.  This makes it more difficult for a burglar to pry the window open with a pry bar.  Depending on what type of windows you have in your home, there are a variety of different types of locks you can install to add extra security.  De Hart Plumbing, serving Manhattan Kansas, Junction City Kansas and Wamego Kansas.
