Does a full moon worry you? A full moon is the lunar phase that occurs when the moon is completely illuminated as seen from the earth. This occurs when the moon is in opposition to the sun. Full moons are traditionally associated with insomnia, insanity and magical phenomena. However studies have found there is no strong evidence for effects on human behavior on or around a full moon. All full moons arise around the time of sunset. The moon rises approximately 30 minutes later from one night to the next. There is no long period of darkness between sunset and moon rise for several days following the actual date of the full moon. Did you know the October full moon is traditionally known as the Full Hunters Moon since it coincides with going hunting to gather food ahead of the arrival of winter.
