On Your Feet

Your feet work hard for you.  Your feet are flexible and made of bones, joints, muscles and soft tissue.  Our feet allow us to walk, run and jump. The feet are divided into three sections.  The forefoot is made up of five toes known as phalanges and five long bones are known as metatarsals.  The midfoot is a collection of bones that form the arch of the foot.  These include three cuneiform bones, the cuboid bone, and the navicular bone.  The hindfoot forms the heel and ankle.  The talus bone supports the leg bones known as the tibia and fibula, forming the ankle.
