Inducer Motor

Inducer MotorUpon the start up of your furnace, the inducer motor turns on a minute or so before your burners. This is to allow the inducer motor to remove any gasses that were left in the heat exchanger during the previous heating cycle. The process guarantees that the chamber is clean upon ignition and the combustion is safe to resume. The continuous action of the inducer motor keeps the burners clean and enhances the air quality inside the system.

Inducer Motors have a life expectancy of 10-15 years. Repeated tapping rounds are one of the most common signs there is a problem with the inducer motor. Typically this is caused by dirt or ash being sucked in and gathering around the fans shaft.

Our VIP membership includes checking the amperage to confirm the inducer is running within manufacturer specifications as well as listening for debris in the inducer.  View more on our membership here https://dehartplumbing.com/vip-membership/
