Granola can be eaten alone as a cereal or as a topping or add on for many foods. Here is a recipe for basic Granola. * 3-cups rolled oats * 1-cup chopped nuts-your choice *3/4-cup shredded coconut *1/4- cup dark brown sugar * 1/4-cup maple syrup * 1/4-cup vegetable oil * 3/4-teaspoon salt * 1-cup raisins (optional). Preheat oven to 250 degrees. In a large bowl combine oats, nuts, coconut, and brown sugar. In a separate bowl, combine oil, maple syrup and salt. Now combine both mixtures and pour onto two lightly oiled sheet pans. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes. Remove from oven and cool. Transfer to an air tight container. Some of the things you can do with granola is stir it into yogurt, sprinkle it on ice creme, add it into a smoothie, add fresh fruit to it, add dried fruits to it and use your imagination.
