Home Buyer Plumbing Tips

home for saleSummer is “home buying” season and we have some important “home buyer plumbing  tips” for you today.  Many home buyers find out too late that their dream home has some serious plumbing problems.  To avoid some unexpected and costly problems after you make the purchase, there are some things you can inspect yourself.  *Check around the base of the toilet for signs of water damage such as; rolled vinyl or stains. *Straddle over the toilet and rock back and forth on each foot to check for a soft or weakened floor. *Check for loose tiles around the bathtub; press on the wall for soft spots from water damage. *Turn the water on in the bathtub and kitchen sink at the same time to see if there is reduced water volume, there may be calcium/mineral deposits restricting water flow. *If the home has a basement, check exposed piping for signs of leaks or recent repairs. *Check the main line cleanout and ensure that it is accessible. *Survey the inside of cabinets with a flashlight for any signs of water damage, warped wood or stains.  Tomorrow we will have more “home buyer plumbing tips”.  De Hart Plumbing, serving Manhattan Kansas, Junction City Kansas and Wamego Kansas.
