A blocked toilet can be cleared in a few simple steps. Try these steps before you may have to call a pro.  You will need: a plunger, a bucket, towels/rags, and possibly a toilet auger. Ask the family if anyone is guilty of flushing the wrong items down the toilet, then get to work. Place rags & towels around the floor. Scoop water out of toilet, leaving just enough to cover the plunger. Push the plunger cup firmly around the opening and using pressure, push and release the plunger 10-15 times. Now flush and hope the obstruction is gone.
