When rain water falls to the ground it is distributed to many places. It is soaked into the ground and flows through the city storm drainage system. Water that puddles on roads and sidewalks eventually evaporates into the atmosphere into clouds that make what? Rain! Storm water pipes carry rain water from your neighborhoods, towns and cities back into rivers, lakes and streams and eventually into the ocean. Storm water is not treated or cleaned in any way so whatever goes down the storm water system ends up where you go swimming and fishing otherwise what do you have? Polluted recreation areas! Next time you see your neighbor pouring automotive oil down the storm drain from changing his oil, you may want to have a word with him…
