Drain tile, corrugated drain tile, French drain or footing tile are all different names for a pipe with holes or perforations in it to let excess water seep into the pipe and effectively move that water away from your home’s foundation. Depending on the construction of your home, drain tile can be a very effective way to collect water around your basement foundation and move it away from your home by way of gravity. Corrugated drain tile is also very effective when used in conjunction with your gutter system to move rainwater underground, away from your home and into the main sewer system.
A common problem with corrugated drain tile is that it can get clogged and completely blocked by dirt, sand, other small debris, or leaves. When this happens, it can be difficult to get those pipes cleared. Traditional train cleaning with a sewer machine can tear up and destroy the pipes, so what can you do?
Hydro-jetting, using high-pressured water, will thoroughly clear blockages and buildup within your drain tile to get them to flow at maximum efficiency. Hydro-jetting won’t damage your perforated pipes like traditional drain cleaning will and will clear build-up and allow water to flow into the drain lines and through it as it should, moving water away from your foundation.
