Air Conditioner Condenser

Air Conditioner CondenserYour air conditioner condenser is the outside unit. The outside air conditioner condenser is one of the most important components of the air conditioner system.  It works together with the compressor in the cooling process. The compressor pressurizes the refrigerant into a hot liquid. As the refrigerant gets to the condenser and through its coils, the heat from the liquid escapes out of the condenser fins and by the time it gets to the end of the coils, it is cooled but still pressurized.  The liquid leaves the condenser through a valve as a mist, it then turns into a gas when it goes through the evaporator coil where it is cooled by the coil and blown out by the fan into the air ducts.
A year’s worth of dirt and debris can clog the cooling fins and lower the cooling ability of the condenser.  You can perform a routine cleaning of the outside condenser by clearing away all debris (leaves, dirt, twigs etc.) at the base.  Next, you will want to hose off the unit, going from top to bottom at an angle, rinsing the fins. It is best to have a professional service your HVAC system annually to assure proper cooling when warm weather occurs.  DeHart Plumbing Heating and Cooling, serving Manhattan Kansas, Junction City Kansas, Wamego Kansas, Topeka Kansas and some surrounding areas.
