Home Air Ducts

Have your home air ducts ever been cleaned?  Through normal occupation in a home, we generate a lot of air pollutants and contaminants.  Dust, pet dander, smoking, and chemicals to name a few.  All of these are pulled through your heating and cooling system and recirculated into your home.  Over time these contaminants cause a build up in the ductwork.  While dirty ducts don’t mean there is unhealthy air in your home, they could contribute to health issues if someone has respiratory health conditions, an autoimmune disorder or allergies.

In addition to normal accumulations of dust and dirt found in a homes air ducts, there are several factors that may want you to consider getting your air ducts professionally cleaned.  If you’ve had a home renovation or water contamination, that may cause you to consider a duct cleaning.  One rule of thumb is that if your air ducts look dirty, they probably are dirty.  You can have your ductwork inspected by an HVAC professional.  Remember, your heating and cooling system is the “lungs” of your home, it takes in air and breaths air out.  When your HVAC system is clean, it doesn’t have to work as hard to maintain your desired temperature which also means energy savings.  De Hart Plumbing Heating and Cooling, serving Manhattan Kansas, Junction City Kansas, Wamego Kansas, Topeka Kansas and some surrounding areas.  Home Air Ducts
