Carbon monoxide poisoning issues can occur with winter on the way. It’s time to check the furnace and fireplace. Carbon monoxide is odorless and tasteless and you cant see it. It can come from the exhaust of heaters, furnaces, and fireplaces and can creep up on you with no warning. Some of the symptoms are dizziness, nausea and a feeling of extreme tiredness. Make sure there is good ventilation around gas appliances and NEVER use the oven, BBQ grill or clothes dryer to heat a room. Install carbon monoxide detectors close to bedrooms. If you suspect carbon monoxide poisoning is happening in your home, open all doors and windows, turn off all fuel-burning appliances, get outside and call 911. Need your furnace inspected before winter? Call De Hart Plumbing Heating and Cooling-The Company with “HART” 785-341-4193.
