Halloween is also known as All Hallows Eve. Halloween is a yearly celebration celebrated in a number of countries on October 31. Contemporary Halloween includes, trick or treating, costumes, festive/scary decorations, carving pumpkins into jack-o’-lanterns ,bonfires, apple bobbing, playing pranks and haunted attractions. And don’t forget the horror films. Many countries have different names for Halloween. It was not until the mass Irish and Scottish immigration in the 19th century that Halloween became a major holiday in America. It gradually entered into mainstream society by the first decade of the 20th century. It is celebrated coast to coast by people of all social and racial backgrounds.
