Liquid Drain Cleaner

Why you shouldn’t use a liquid drain cleaner.  Plumbers face problems with liquid drain cleaner, they are not good for your drains.  Sitting on the shelves of grocery stores and big-box stores, a liquid drain cleaner seems like a bargain and a quick solution when a drain in your bathroom, kitchen or laundry room backs up.  The chemicals in commercial drain cleaners, particularly off-brand and inexpensive varieties, have high toxicity levels. The fumes aren’t healthy to inhale and will irritate your eyes and nose not to mention what they can do to your skin if it splashes on you.  The chemicals in some of the products can damage your pipes while “supposedly” cleaning them.  The principal chemical in commercial cleaning solutions is hydrochloric acid, which can damage your pipes if it sits in them, let alone chew at the enamel and finishing’s in your kitchen and bathroom.  Also, take into considerationLiquid Drain Cleaner how bad these chemicals are for the environment.  Most times these products don’t even work.  You are better off first using a common household plunger, and if that doesn’t work, call your local plumber to come to the rescue.  De Hart Plumbing, serving Manhattan Kansas, Junction City Kansas and Wamego Kansas.
