Ham and cheese strata is simple to make for a Spring Brunch. *4-slices of cubed white bread *1-cup of chopped cooked ham *3/4-cup shredded cheddar cheese *4-eggs *1/4-cup half-and-half and a dash of pepper. Spray a deep dish pie plate with cooking spray. Arrange bread cubes in the bottom, then evenly sprinkle ham and cheese over the bread. In A medium bowl beat eggs, half-and-half and pepper with a wire whisk until well blended. Pour over ingredients in pie plate. Cover tightly and refrigerate for 6 hours or overnight. Preheat oven to *350 degrees. Bake uncovered 40-45 minutes or until top is lightly browned and center is set. Let stand for 15 minutes before serving. You can do different variations to this recipe by changing the type of meat, such as bacon or sausage and using different cheeses. You could also add chopped onions or peppers or other veggies.
