Bipolar Depression

Bipolar depression can resemble other conditions.  Bipolar depression is a brain condition characterized by extreme mood swings.  These mood swings can have periods of highs (mania) and extreme lows.  For many living with this condition, they tend to spend a lot more time in “downs” than “ups”. Depression can look similar to bipolar depression but they are two different diagnoses that each require different treatment/medication.  If you feel like you may have the condition, you need to seek professional treatment.  Recovery is possible with bipolar disorder.

Get moving – exercise helps.  Exercise releases endorphins known as feel-good chemicals in your body.  Studies have shown that inflammatory processes cause chemical changes that affect the brain. Exercise reduces inflammation and may ease symptoms.  Eating heart-healthy meals also help and you should avoid the use of alcohol and illegal drugs.  Getting regular sleep is also crucial for treatment.  You should go to bed at the same time and wake up at the same time seven days a week and stop using any electronic devices at least 90 minutes before you go to bed.

Research shows that some vitamin supplements such as omega-3 fatty acids can assist in reducing bipolar depression symptoms.  This condition does require a proper diagnosis from a professional doctor. Exercise, a heart-healthy diet, vitamin supplements and a proper sleep routine can all help. You cant take care of others until you learn to take care of yourself.  De Hart Plumbing Heating and Cooling, serving Manhattan Kansas, Junction City Kansas, Wamego Kansas, Topeka Kansas and some surrounding areas.  Bipolar Depression
