Once again we are having a cold spell and frozen pipes will follow. To prevent frozen pipes you need to follow a few simple tips for Frozen Pipe Protection. Insulate any exposed pipes in your garage, basement or crawl space. If you have a garden hose attached to an outdoor faucet, disconnect it and cover/insulate the faucet. You can purchase a foam cover at any hardware or home improvement store. Next – open the cabinet doors under all sinks to allow warm air to circulate. Turn your heat up a few degrees and leave it at the same temperature 24/7 till the cold spell ends. All of these tips will cost less than calling the plumber because of frozen pipes.
