Your toilet is probably the most used item in your home. You can keep your toilet running clog free and longer by following these tips: ONLY the 3-P’s should go into your toilet, pee, poop, and paper (toilet paper). Do not use your toilet as a wastebasket. Facial tissue, feminine products, Q-tips, paper towels, dental floss, wet wipes are some of the most common items to cause clogs. Although flushing these items may not cause an immediate clog, they can get stuck in the drain, causing a build-up and a clog. Never stand on your toilet as it could crack and you could fall. Be careful if you are remodeling or working in the bathroom with tools, as a hammer or wrench dropped on the tank or in the toilet can break or crack it. Never pour hot liquid in the toilet because the hot liquid in a cold toilet can crack it. Clean your toilet with soft plastic bristle brushes and NEVER mix toilet bowl cleaners at once because some contain bleach and some contain ammonia which could cause a dangerous chemical reaction.
