Garbage Disposal Problems

Here are some tips on what NOT to put in your garbage disposal.  * No grease, oil or fat  * ONLY use COLD WATER  when grinding food waste-never hot  * NO fibrous foods such as corn husks, celery and vegetable skins  * Don’t put large amounts of food scraps in the disposal all at once. Feed small amounts in slowly while running cold water before, during and after  *Don’t put expandable foods in the disposal such as rice, pasta or coconut  * Don’t grind bones and skin  * Don’t put coffee grounds in the disposal  * Always leave the disposal run for a minute after processing food in it  *To clean the blades process 1-cup of ice cubes and cold running water  * To freshen the disposal, slice some lemon slices and process with cold running water.  De Hart Plumbing Heating and Cooling, serving Manhattan Kansas, Junction City Kansas and Wamego Kansas and some outlying areas.
