Whole-Home Humidifier

Whole-Home HumidifierThere are many benefits to investing in a whole-home humidifier. Dry air, especially during the cold winter months, can weaken the immune system making you more susceptible to catching a cold or flu virus. In low humidity, your mucous membranes, which help your body fend off pathogens, can dry out and leave you more vulnerable. Dry air in a home can also worsen symptoms from the cold, flu and even allergies by drying out the throat and nasal passages making coughs more severe, extend breathing problems and prolong sore throats. Also, skin loses moisture in low humidity so if you are already having skin issues like eczema or dermatitis, you will probably experience even more problems.

A whole-home humidifier, not only benefits who live there, but it also keeps your hardwood floors from cracking and paints from chipping.  Humidified air also feels warmer so you can lower the temperature of your home and still feel just as warm. The EPA has stated that every degree that you lower your thermostat, you will save about 4% on your heating bill.

Room humidifiers typically don’t have a humidity regulator so you are more likely to add too much moisture into the air which can lead to mold, mildew, dust mites, and cause damage to electronics. Water tanks must also be cleaned regularly to prevent mold and bacteria buildup in-room humidifiers. On the contrary, whole-home humidifiers only need to be serviced once or twice a year.
