Very Common Plumbing Problems

Here are some very common plumbing problems. * Worn fittings can lead to water damage to your property not to mention wasted water and a higher monthly water bill.  As soon as you see that dripping faucet or that water stain in the ceiling or wall, you should call a plumber.  Leaks never go away on their own so it is best to get it fixed as soon as it appears.  *A plugged toilet can be the basis of your existence if it is the only toilet in your home that is plugged.  The usual culprits are baby/personal wipes, which may say “flushable” but truly aren’t. Tampons, which also may say, “flushable”  but should never be flushed.  Other items that should never be flushed down your toilet are sanitary napkins, paper towels, hair, dental floss and disposable diapers.  Always remember the 3 P’s – Pee, Poop, Paper (toilet paper) are all that should ever be flushed down the toilet.  *A rusted, leaking water heater can lead to no hot water or even worse, a massive water leak if it is so old and rusted or cracked.  The water heater is the most neglected appliance in your home until it stops working.  You should give it a good visual check a few times a year and get it serviced by a professional once a year.  * If you have a sump pump, you should check it regularly by pouring water in it to see if it will cycle.  Many times when the first heavy downpour occurs, that is when many homeowners find out their sump pump is not working.  If you need a plumber, you know who to call: De Hart Plumbing Heating and Cooling, serving Manhattan Kansas, Junction City Kansas, Topeka Kansas and some surrounding areas.Very Common Plumbing Problems
