A Small Business

A small business is normally a privately owned entity.  They can be a privately owned corporation, partnership or sole proprietorship.  Typical examples of small businesses are: convenience stores, hairdressers, tradesmen(De Hart Plumbing), lawyers, bakeries, accountants, restaurants, photographers and small scale manufacturing etc.  The definition of a small business according to the Small Business Administration, specifies it as having fewer than 250 employees.  Other methods used to classify small businesses include the value of net profit, value of assets and annual sales.
