Signs of Furnace Repair

furnace repairThere are always a few tell-tale signs that you need to call a professional in for furnace service. You should never wait and put off furnace maintenance because a minor issue could potentially turn into a big issue.  Smells, sounds, and temperature variations shouldn’t be ignored when it comes to your furnace.

Squealing

The squealing may be intermittent or barely audible but it will get worse! This sound is most likely coming from your blower motor and it will soon need replaced.

No Air Flow

If you hear your furnace turn on and run but don’t feel any air through the vents, your blower motor or wheel may have failed or a capacitor may have stopped working effectively, or you could have a really dirty filter.

Different Smells

If you smell rotten eggs or smell something burning, you should turn off your furnace and call a professional immediately! You may have a gas leak or something has gotten caught in the burners.

Pilot Light Won’t Stay Lit

If your pilot light won’t stay lit, there could be a condensate line clog, faulty thermocouple, or dirty pilot tube to name a few things.

Having annual furnace maintenance performed before you officially switch from AC to heat will greatly reduce the chance of you being left in the cold due to a heating issue. Trained, qualified HVAC professionals will thoroughly inspect and test your unit to ensure everything is working safely and properly.

If you know you had furnace issues last season or you need your annual furnace maintenance scheduled, give us a call and let our technicians make sure you and your family stay warm this winter!
